COFFEE MACHINE PARTS
A coffee machine is an object that people invented to solve the inconvenience of drinking coffee. It is a precision casting food machine.
Its basic structure is as below:
Control Panel: On/Off switch
The on/off switch connects the coffee machine to the power supply. It activates the pump and heat mechanisms.
Extraction controls
The extraction controls activate the flow of hot water through the group heads, flowing into the cup.
Filter basket
The filter basket is a perforated, stainless steel container designed to hold measured portions of ground coffee. There are mainly two different sizes, a single and a double.
Group
The word group describes the assembled group handle and the group head. Coffee machines are normally described by the number of groups they possess. Small machines have one group and can go as large as five groups.
Group handle
The group handle holds the filter basket of ground coffee during the extractions process. It is attached to the machine with the protruding lugs on its side.
Steam control
The steam control activates the flow of steam from the top of the boiler out through the nozzle of the steam wand.
Steam wand
The steam wand consists of a moveable arm with a nozzle at the end. It dispenses steam which foams and heats up milk.
Steam nozzle
The steam nozzle is at the end of the steam wand. It usually has 1~5 holes that distribute the steam in different directions.
Hot water control
The hot water control activates the flow of water from the boiler to the hot water arm.
Hot water arm
The hot water arm dispenses hot water direct from the boiler.
Cup warmer/tray
The cup warmer is a tray on top of the coffee machine for cups to be stored and warmed ready for use
Drip tray
The drip tray collects spills and drips and directs them through a hose into a drainage area, sometimes a bucket, or straight into a drain.
